[dropcap type =”circle”]T[/dropcap]he beginning of April marks the annual celebration of English tourism. With the start of English Tourism Week this year, comes the launch of the much-anticipated Oxford Pass to be held at Blenheim Palace on Wednesday April 3. This pass is your two-day ticket permitting entry to a number of local attractions including the Ashmolean, Bicester Village, Oxford Artisan Distillery, Oxford Castle Unlocked,Carfax Tower,Soldiers of Oxfordshire Museum and Blenheim Palace. Pass holders will also be able to use it on Oxford Official Walking Tours, City Sightseeing buses and are free to make unlimited journeys on Oxford Bus Company and Thames Travel services across Oxfordshire.
Where better to host this exciting enterprise than Blenheim Palace, one of the named attractions allowing access to Oxford Pass holders. The event will take place between 6:30pm and 8:30pm and will be attended by VisitEngland Chairman Denis Wormwell along with a number of key stakeholders. “We are delighted to be hosting the launch of the Oxford Pass’’ said Blenheim Palace’s CEO Dominic Hare. “We believe it will not only encourage many more people to visit both the city and the surrounding area but also to see more of our great attractions and to stay longer.”
This ‘one stop shop’ combination ticket is the result of a joint initiative between Experience Oxfordshire, Oxford Bus Company and Blenheim Palace, and aims to increase tourism to the city and surrounding areas by providing a pass to the best attractions and local transport links. Hayley Beer-Gamage, CEO of Experience Oxfordshire said: “This pass has been developed locally to ensure we are making the visitor journey easy for consumers to experience and enjoy as much as possible during their visit.”
Easily accessible, the sightseeing card will be available to book online and can be collected from one of five locations; Oxford Bus Travel Shops on High Street and at Gloucester Green Coach Station, the City Sightseeing Office at Oxford Station, Oxford Visitor Information Centre and Blenheim Palace Visitor Centre.
Experience Oxfordshire, Blenheim Palace and the Oxford Bus Company have all been working tirelessly to get this new product on the market.
