The new centre, created by and for the Woodstock community and surrounding villages, is the end result of more than a decade’s fundraising which has included a £50,000 grant from West Oxfordshire Council and a donation of £5,000 from Blenheim Palace’s charity bursary plus numerous individual donations and contributions.

The new Nordic Wood design building includes a large hall, computer room, an art and craft room, as well as a kitchen, café and games area. It is also extremely energy efficient which will also dramatically reduce running costs.

“This is a wonderful example of a community working together for the young people of Woodstock and surrounding villages and I would like to add my gratitude to all those involved in making it happen. It was my pleasure to officially open the New Woodstock Youth Centre,” said His Grace, the Duke of Marlborough.

The new building has been built by Nordic Wood, a family run business founded by the Eklo family, with a mission of bringing the highest quality Scandinavian materials and building techniques to the UK.
