[dropcap type =”circle”]A[/dropcap] life long passion for dogs has become a dream business venture for Lisa Davies from Lower Heyford.
After a successful career as a beautician and reflexologist, Lisa has swapped the glamour of her treatment room for wellies and walks and has launched her own dog walking business.

Lisa Takes The Lead was launched at the beginning of the year and is already proving to be a popular service for local dog owners. Lisa said: “I wanted to follow my life long passion for working with dogs. I have always been an animal lover but I particularly love dogs, and always have ever since having my first dog dog as a child. I took him to obedience classes and trained him to do tricks including taking money up to buy his own treats, open doors, sniff out lost money and pull me and my friend around the park on roller skates! This was just the beginning!”

Lisa’s dogs were well loved pets and a hobby. She thought that it would only be a pipe dream to become a dog handler so followed a different path in work life.

Making the most of her vast experience of thirty years of dog ownership Lisa took the plunge and made a big career change, launching her fully insured dog walking business for dog owners who need a bit of support and help to keep their dogs exercised. Lisa walks her dogs in small groups and her many years of experience means that much loved and prized pooches are in very safe hands.

She added: “Beauty therapy is now so competitive and I realised that I wasn’t enjoying it as much anymore. I made the decision to swap human clients for the canine kind and Lisa Takes The Lead was launched. Walking dogs may sound easy, however it is a big responsibility and not as easy as it appears. I have invested considerable time and money in getting the business up and running and it didn’t happen overnight, but I love my furry clients that are currently on my books and I am looking forward to welcoming more. I think being happy in your work is important and I have never been happier.”
