Cycling fans gathered in villages to see the world’s top professional cyclists as they raced through Oxfordshire and on to the Cotswolds as part of stage seven of Britain’s premier road cycling event which started in Hemel Hempstead.

The race crossed Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire before passing through Bourton-on-the-Water, Stow-on-the-Wold and Moreton-in-Marsh.
Cherwell Valley Today caught up with competitors as they raced past Bunkers Hill and Wootton towards Charlbury.

Motorcycle police officers prepare for the worst and reach for their wet weather gear.

One cycling fan said: “This is brilliant-it’s great to see people out here supporting the event but it would be even better to see more people lining the roads and for local pubs to get a bit more involved.”
