[dropcap type =”cicle”]N[/dropcap]estled at the bottom of a lane in the grounds of a family farm sits six luxurious wig wams –  the ultimate glamping experience and our home for a few days.

I arrived with my husband Luke, and two children George, four and Millie two, and my sister and her family after a 45 minute journey from Bicester, to a warm welcome from Amanda who lives in the farmhouse and owns the wigwams with her husband.

She had baked us a delicious shortbread which we enjoyed with a coffee in the guest summer house on a comfy sofa while the children played outside with the garden games which are free for all guests to use at their leisure.

Each wigwam sleeps up to four people, with a double bed and sofa that pulls out into a double bed. A dining room table, fridge, cutlery for four, hob, sink, kettle and toaster are all inside the wig wam making it a really comfortable experience. There is even a TV and DVD player, with a host of DVDs in the summer house that you can take back to your wig wam to enjoy. We chose the classics: ET and Ghostbusters!

Forget carrying the kids in the freezing cold in the middle of the night to the toilet here, each wig wam has its own spotless en-suite consisting of an electric shower, sink and toilet.

A decking area with picnic bench outside makes dining a pleasurable and easy experience. Outside each of the wig wams is a fire pit – a great way to enjoy a BBQ and don’t worry, if you forget to bring food with you, you can get locally sourced meat from the freezer in the summer house and marshmallows for afters!

We booked one of the two wig wams that have a hot tub which I would really recommend. A glass of vino was enjoyed relaxing in the tub watching the sun go down after the kids were asleep in the evening, and even my four year old and eight year old nephew were ecstatic about having an outside swimming pool to play in!

Towns close by are Chipping Norton, Stow on the Wold and Bourton on the Water and Amanda has recommended pubs in the area for visitors to try.

If you like the idea of camping but with warmth, home comforts and extras then Evenlode wig wams are definitely for you.

Bookings of all six wigwams can be made for group hire and you can speak to Amanda about party bookings, a great idea for a family party or gathering!
