[dropcap type =”circle”]B[/dropcap]icester has a new cocktail bar and artisan beer and ale shop thanks to the refurbishment of Sheep Street pub The Angel.
Over the last few weeks, new owners Oak Taverns, have been busy getting to grips with new design ideas and now the pub and The Bottle Shop are open for business.
Emma Stevenson from Oak Taverns said: “This particular project is something that we have never done before as a company, and we are really pleased with the result. The refurbishment has turned the pub into a new and exciting venue for Bicester. We offer an extensive drinks list including over 30 different gins, local craft ales and six real ale hand pumps. We have a huge log fire and comfortable surroundings, as well as a huge outdoor space, including a permanent marquee which means you can sit outside all year round.”
The pub also has a cocktail barn with a bespoke made bar and a craft beer bottle shop with interesting beers from local breweries and around the world.
The Bottle Shop @102 Sheep Street, is at the back of the pub in the outdoor space, and sells lots of different and ever changing craft ales from local breweries including bottles of Oak Taverns’ very own Guildhall Island Gin.
Emma added: “We are currently finalising our micro brewery too, which will be brewing Bicester Brewery beer very soon. Customers can now pop in to The Bottle Shop on their way home from work and either buy beer to take away or stay for a drink in the shop and we really hope that people will also take part in the taster evenings that we have planned.”
Weekends are already proving popular and busy as customers try the street food that is on offer. Emma added: “The street food changes all the time and is served through our new kitchen outdoor hatch which will see different street food vendors serving delicious food every single weekend.”
