As the largest non-metropolitan police force in the country, Thames Valley Police offers a unique mix of rural and urban policing.
A spokesman said: “A career as a police constable with us is challenging but offers an excellent opportunity for those who want to develop their skills whilst transforming the lives of local people.  Whether it’s fighting major crime, responding to road traffic collisions or building relationships with the community, there is no career quite like policing.
Thames Valley Police is aiming to recruit around 200 new police officers this year in order to maintain a resilient frontline service. The force is keen to recruit people with a wide range of skills and experiences and an understanding of cultural issues, and is keen to fully represent the diverse communities within the Thames Valley area and encourage applicants from minority backgrounds who are underrepresented in the Force.
Sally Farley, People Services Advisor said: “We are seeking the very best to join our ranks – the ideal candidates will be individuals who are honest, enthusiastic and hard working. If you believe you have what it takes to be part of our team then we would love to hear from you.
“It’s a challenging role, but with first class training and opportunities for promotion and specialisation, it’s a rewarding career that continues to make a genuine difference for our communities.”
In light of recent proposals from the College of Policing, Thames Valley Police has taken the decision to review the educational requirements for anyone wanting to join as a police officer. To be eligible to apply, candidates must hold two A Levels graded pass (A-E), an equivalent (Level 3) qualification or higher. Please note this includes equivalent vocational and international qualifications; if you have any queries about the equivalency of your qualification please email the recruitment team
