[dropcap type = “circle”]O[/dropcap]xford Playhouse presents Snowflakes, a brand new show for little ones in the Burton Taylor Studio this Christmas. After much success with the Dear Father Christmas series, Oxford Playhouse has forged a new partnership with children’s TV presenter Cerrie Burnell, and brings her magical children’s book to the stage.

Cerrie Burnell is a well-loved CBeebies presenter, best-selling children’s author and disabilities campaigner. She’s written the popular Harper series as well as plays, including Winged and The Magical Playroom, and Snowflakes will be her first book adapted for the stage.

Mia has come to live with her Grandma, far away from where she was born. It isn’t at all like her old life in the city, and at first she feels very different from the new children she sees. But when she watches the snow falling around her one night, Mia realises that she is just like one of the snowflakes – unique and perfect in her own way.

The cast of three consists of Nazerene Williams in the lead role of Mia, accompanied by Kate Winder as Grandma Mitzi and Antony Antunes (In The Night Garden, UK Tour and War Horse, National Theatre) as Milo.

Directed by Tina Williams (Artistic Director of Pied Piper Theatre Company) and teamed with movement director Angela Gasparetta (Wish List, Royal Exchange and Royal Court), Puppetry Director Roman Stefanski (Associate Director at Polka Theatre), as well as adorable puppets from puppet maker Nick Ash, this tale is full of wonder, promoting the beauty, power and joy in everyone. A perfect treat and first theatre experience for little ones.
