[dropcap type =”circle”]A[/dropcap] crowd funding campaign has been launched to help fund Bicester’s Big Lunch next summer.
The Big Lunch is a very simple idea from the Eden Project. The aim is to get as many people as possible across the whole of the UK to have lunch with their neighbours annually on the first Sunday in June in a simple act of community, friendship and fun.
In Bicester organisers take it one step further, and instead of just your neighbours, the whole town is invited to the biggest street party Bicester has ever seen.
Bicester’s Big Lunch is put together through community and business collaboration to enable people to have fun with neighbours, encourage a friendlier neighbourhood, and make new friends.
The most important thing about Bicester’s Big Lunch is that it brings the whole community together for the day; families, friends and neighbours come together to share lunch, chat and have fun. Big Lunch reaches the very young to the very old, something for everyone, and it is held at the heart of the community.
James Metcalfe who helps to organise the event said: “The Big Lunch Management team is a small group of local residents who volunteer to run and manage this event every year. We rely totally on our own fundraising efforts and the support of local businesses and individuals, we cannot achieve Bicester’s Big Lunch without your help. Donations are crucial to our cause, without them we couldn’t bring the Big Lunch to Bicester. Please help support this fantastic community day.”
