[dropcap type=”circle”]T[/dropcap]he Old Flight House at Weston on the Green is definitely a lunch venue with a difference and well worth a visit if you are travelling up the A34 towards Bicester.
With a lunch menu that just seems to get better and better, delicious cakes and the chance to indulge in some interiors shopping at the same time-what’s not to love?
When I visited today, (Friday) the groaning carpark and packed restaurant was testament to The Old Flight House’s huge appeal to lunchtime diners who are seeking something and somewhere a little different.
It is worth a visit for the food alone, which when I was there included a delicious mushroom and stilton tart with perfectly dressed salad. Also on the menu were generous toasties, baguettes, salads and probably the best chocolate brownie that I have tasted for some time (and trust me, I have tasted a lot of them!)
With lunch over, you then have the option to browse the huge building that is crammed with a fascinating selection of pre-loved, vintage, retro and antique furniture and accessories. It is great to see such a wide range of products on show, and even if some of the prices might be a little out of your budget, it is a great opportunity to get some inspiration and pick up beautiful glassware, china, textiles and pictures.
