Bicester MP Victoria Prentis visited Saietta Electric Drive in Upper Heyford. Saietta was founded in 2014 and specialise in electric drive solutions using axial-flux motor technology. Victoria met Chief Commercial Officer Graham Lenden to discuss their plans to bring more engineering jobs to the local area and also got a chance to test drive the Twizy, powered by Saietta’s proprietary AFT elective motor innovation.
Victoria said: “I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to Saietta Electric Drive in Upper Heyford. We are proud to have so much modern industry in the local area, providing worldwide solutions and attracting global business.”
“It was great to meet Chief Commercial Officer Graham Lenden to discuss opportunities going forward including bringing more engineering jobs to the area as well as how they intend to make their operation carbon neutral. Graham explained to me that Saietta’s business ethos is to tackle pollution in megacities, principally in Asia, by providing both whole vehicle and motor solutions.”
“I also found out that Saietta are looking to build a new pilot production facility and also convert an aircraft hangar into a motor durability test centre. Graham informed me that £37 million has been funded so far but more is required.”
“Towards the end of my visit, I got the opportunity to test drive the Twizy, powered by Saietta’s proprietary AFT elective motor innovation. It was really exciting!”
Chief Commercial Officer, Graham Lenden, added: “There is significant demand globally to make EV technology more accessible, and it was our pleasure to host Victoria and explain how our innovative AFT electric motors are key to reducing EV cost and enabling widespread adoption. We also discussed plans to bring more engineering jobs to Oxfordshire and to develop our R&D, Testing and Production facilities and make our operation carbon neutral.”
