Professional artist, writer and illustrator, Stephen Yorke, from Upper Heyford, has been named as The Official Artist for The Blue Cross – the pet welfare charity.

“I’m hugely honoured with the title,” said Stephen, “and I’m pleased to donate 10% of all my animal commission fees to The Blue Cross to help them with their excellent work.”

At the age of 11, Stephen won a place at the Moseley School of Art in Birmingham, established by the Pre-Raphaelite brotherhood, where he studied classical rendering techniques in all aspects of art.

He has exhibited in France, were he lived and worked for 7 Years, Cyprus, New York and extensively in the UK.

“Animal portraiture has always been a favourite amongst my work and now I can do something I love to help deserving pets and their owners.”

For much-loved creatures great and small

Commissioning your own original animal portrait couldn’t be simpler – there is no ‘sitting’ required, all you need to do is send a good quality, in focus photo, either by email or through the post and decide what size and in what medium you would like the work to be in-so for example oil, watercolour or pencil.

An original pencil or watercolour image starts at £195, 10% of which goes directly to The Blue Cross. Art prints are also available of any image on the website gallery or of you own original artwork. Professionally printed on acid-free paper, prices start at £45, making them ideal special gifts or a lasting treasured memory.
