The Yurt Cafe at Nicholsons

[dropcap type =”circle”]T[/dropcap]he Yurt Café at Nicholsons in North Aston had its official launch with a chance for guests to sample the menu.
Designed and built by Sasha Macey and her team at Yurts for Life the structure houses a café that is now open for coffee and lunch.

Sasha said: “It is great to be here and see the yurt being used. I am really pleased how it has worked out and working with Neil and Liz has been brilliant. There are no corners in a yurt so no hiding places! This makes it a very warm, welcoming and social space to share with other people and enjoy. Yurts are becoming increasingly popular for all sorts of uses and this one works really well.”

Head chef Sonya Kidney has been busy exploring new flavours and ideas for dishes. Liz Nicholson said: “We are very excited to announce that our new Café is now open. Our yurt was made in Devon, hewn from skilfully steam bent ash timbers, sanded by hand and treated with oils for longevity. It has a fleece lining for winter and tough cotton canvas to keep out the British weather all year round.
“For many years, we have thought about offering more to our customers, somewhere to sit for an hour, and have a drink, lunch or some cake.”

The Yurt Café is open from Monday to Friday: 8:30am – 4:30pm
Saturday: 9:00am – 4:00pm
Closed on Sundays
