Festive food on the menu at The Bell, Lower Heyford

[dropcap type =”circle”]T[/dropcap]he Bell at Lower Heyford has released its Christmas menu and is now taking bookings for the festive season.
At the heart of the village in Market Square, The Bell is a late 17th-century, large, thatched, multi-roomed pub close to the Oxford canal and railway station at Lower Heyford.
Very popular with people who live both in Heyford and the surrounding villages, the pub is also an ideal stop off destination for anyone who is travelling on the Oxford Canal. The Christmas menu is ideal for groups of friends or for office Christmas get togethers.
Throughout the year, The Bell offers a range of good home-cooked food at lunch times and in the evening, but as Manager Lyn Chandler points out, Christmas is one of the times of year when the pub really comes into its own.
Lyn said: “The Bell is an old building with lots of original features which gives it a real charm and a lovely cosy atmosphere. In the summer, our garden is really popular and we have had it used as a wedding venue and for other functions and events,
“In autumn and winter the pub becomes even more atmospheric and we are a popular lunch spot for dog walkers and weekend visitors as well as for all our loyal, local customers who regularly visit us all year round. We are surrounded by beautiful countryside with lots of lovely walks so The Bell makes a great stop off point for a pint and some lunch before people carry on with their walks.”
The Bell is very much a family pub and well behaved children and dogs are made very welcome.
Lyn added: “We are an important part of the community here in Lower Heyford and hold a beer festival in September as well as having live music from time to time to promote local musicians.
“We always look forward to the Christmas season and can’t wait to get the decorations up ready for our Christmas bookings!”
